The Bowtie Construction crew

BOWTIE CONSTRUCTION specializes in environmentally friendly construction in the Roanoke Valley. Our business policy is no smoking on job sites, no loud or obnoxious music, no foul language permitted, all employees must be clean cut and groomed and company shirts must be worn at all times (no shirtless construction workers). None of our employees smoke!

One of our most common compliments is ‘where did you find your workers?’. We pride ourselves on employing people we would be comfortable having work in our home. Please take a moment to get to know my lead carpenter and I.

Mark Waller

Hi I’m Mark Waller-the owner. I have 18 years experience in construction.

• I am a Certified Green Professional through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
• I am an ENERGY STAR partner.
• Earth Craft Home Certified.

I founded Bowtie in spring of 2007. I am also a local minister and volunteer for a Regional Building Committee which builds houses of worship all over the region. I have been married for 11 years and I am 36 years old.

Let me also introduce you to my lead carpenter, Ken Colvin.

Ken Colvin

Ken has 14 years experience as a carpenter and 7 years as a lead carpenter. He started with Bowtie spring of 2007. He is a framing and trim specialist. Ken is also a local minister and volunteer for the Regional Building Committee which builds houses of worship all over the region. He has been married for 13 years and is the father of two girls. He is 32 years old.
